Travel Cruiser Concessionaires Ltd, trading as Travelworld American Motorhomes has been serving the American Motorhome community in one way or another for 25 years.
In the late 1970s when American Motorhomes were first being imported into Britain , Travelworld had a plant in Indiana manufacturing and importing Travel Cruiser American Motorhomes.
In the early 1980s, Travelworld were also importing Volkswagen Westfalia Motorhomes from Germany . By the mid 1980s there was the rise of Diamond Motorcaravans, based in Leighton Buzzard and Pioneer Motorcaravans based in Hull , both manufacturing subsidiaries of Travelworld, the main feature being conversions on LT and Volkswagen transporters.
1985 brought along changes, Travel Cruiser was bought out by GULF STREAM COACH, a large recreational vehicle manufacturer. This was the start of a long and extremely rewarding relationship.
Within months of Travelworld becoming a Gulf Stream dealer, we began importing 'Sun Sports', and not long after this becoming a full line dealer, supplying Ultras, Sun Streams, Sun Vistas, Sun Voyagers and Friendships. We then went on to become a purely American dealer, and to monopolise the American RV market, in Britain , with sales of Gulf Streams all through the 1980s and 1990s.
During this time, the competition increased dramatically in Britain , and by 1994 we took the industry a stage further by becoming a full line dealer for MONACO COACH CORPORATION, one of the largest high line coach manufacturers in the world. Having already carved a solid reputation in Britain , with sales and expertise, we did not find it hard to make the transition.
To complement our high quality product range on offer today, Travelworld is now completely computerised, throughout the sales, service and accounts departments. The sales and service team have a constant link to Monaco , Holiday Rambler and Newmar, enabling us to keep our customers continually informed of progress and new developments.
