Local businesswoman Annabel Macquarie has just completed the challenge of a lifetime and raised more than £2,500 for charity to boot. Annabel, who is operations director of Telford based American motorhome business, Travelworld RV, has just returned for a gruelling five day trek along the Great Wall of China in aid of charity Scope. The adventure took her along some of the most demanding terrain in the world, through mountainous trails and remote villages before finally ending up in Beijing.

Luckily Annabel, who is a mother of three, is a fitness fanatic and had been training hard to ensure she was ready for the challenge. “The trekking was hard going, with about 7 hours of hard uphill walking a day, but the amazing scenery and panoramic views made the whole trip an experience to remember.”

Annabel has managed to raise £2,560 so far, with donations still coming in, for the charity that supports families of Cerebal Palsy sufferers, Scope, through generous donations from Travelworld’s customers and suppliers, as well as family and friends. She says; “This is the first time I have ever done anything like this, but it won’t be the last. It was an amazing experience and made all the more worthwhile by helping to raise money for such a worthwhile charity.”
